The Arts Society of Ulster Trust, formerly known as the Royal Ulster Academy Association, has been holding Annual Exhibitions, lectures and courses in its own right since 1997.  The Society currently has around 130 Members, a large proportion of whom are professional and semi-professional artists who cover an interesting spectrum of traditional and contemporary works in a huge variety of styles and media.  All Members are elected to the Society on the basis of their skills as artists.

The Arts Society of Ulster’s main aim is to provide a creative forum for artists and to promote the appreciation of the visual arts within the province and the wider viewing public. We especially celebrate the artistic talent and originality of our own exhibiting Members whose work we are proud to present in our online gallery.

Our prestigious Annual Open Exhibition has been growing in size and national acclaim. Usually this event usually runs from the end of August through the first few weeks of September. This is a selected exhibition and is always held at a venue in or close to Belfast .  However, PLEASE NOTE, this year it was held from April 6th -15th at Merville House, Whitehouse, Newtownabbey, Co. Antrim, BT37 9TH. The next Annual Open Exhibition will be held in 2013. If you are interested in submitting work for this exhibition do check our site from time to time for further information.
Entry forms for Non Members are now available to download. Closing date for entries is  10th February. See Submission Form under Annual Exhibition tab
