How do Associate Members become Full Members?
Awarding Full Membership.  The awarding of Society letters is achieved only when an Associate Member has had two or more of his/her works selected for the Annual Exhibition in two out of any three consecutive years.  Once this accolade is bestowed the Member is entitled to place ASU after their name.

Can I enter work for the Annual Exhibition?
Do you live in the British Isles and would you be able to deliver the work for selection to a designated site in or near Belfast and, in the event of your work being successfully selected, would you be able to arrange handing your work in for hanging the following month?  If your answer is yes to all the above then you can apply for or download a registration form available from late spring for that year’s Exhibition.

How is work chosen for the Annual Exhibition?
The Non Members can enter a maximum of two works which, together with our own Members work will be presented before a panel of independent external selectors who will decide what work will be shown in the Exhibition.  The selectors decision is final.
Full Members have the right to allocate one of their works for exhibition.   Associate Members submitting three works are assured that, irrespective of the results of selection, one of their works will be shown.  They cannot choose which one.

NB Should only one work be entered then it is subject to selection irrespective of membership status.
